Why it matters

Own the auction, not just the inventory.

Ad networks and large publishers use the exchange module to sell inventory to many DSPs at once, set their own rules, and keep the margin an outside exchange would take.

  • IAB OpenRTB auctions
  • Bid floors by publisher, placement, geo and device
  • QPS controls per DSP
  • Response time limits so slow bids don't hold up delivery
  • Reports for admins, DSPs and publishers

FAQ

Common questions

What's the difference between an SSP and an ad exchange?

An SSP (supply-side platform) helps publishers sell inventory to many buyers. An ad exchange is the marketplace where the auction happens. DJAX's module can run as either: your own SSP for your publishers, or an exchange that other SSPs and DSPs connect to.

Which protocol do DSPs use to connect?

DSPs connect over the IAB OpenRTB protocol. Bid responses are validated, and DSPs that exceed the response time limit are dropped from that auction.

Why run my own exchange instead of using one?

You set the auction rules and floors, choose which buyers connect, keep the data, and don't pay a third-party exchange fee on every transaction.
